Primitive Archery

Traditional archery deals with the study, construction
and use of traditional bows and arrows.

Traditional archery includes traditional style longbows, flatbows and recurves.
In addition, traditional archery involves an 'attitude' of tradition that most
importantly includes the dissemination of the skill, craft, history and
values of traditional archery to others.

Traditional Archery

Primitive archery is a specific type of traditional archery.

Primitive archery specializes in the study, construction and use of primitive bows
and primitive arrows This includes self-bows (i.e. constructed of wood and other
natural materials) that are crafted in the style of longbows, flatbows and
recurves. A primitive arrow typically refers to a wood self-arrow with
the feathers mounted in a primitive fashion using sinew and a flint,
obsidian or other natural material arrowhead.
